ABDY, 7th BART. (Eng.) Creat. 1641.-WILLIAM ABDY, son of Sir William Abdy, 6th Bart., (Capt. R.N.), by a dau. of James Gordon, Esq., of More Place, Hertfordshire. Mar. 1806, the eldest dau. of the Marq. Wellesley, from whom he was divorced in 1816; she was subsequently married to the 3rd son of the 3rd Duke of Portland; succeeded his father in 1803. The first baronet was Thomas Abdy, Esq., of Felix Hall, Essex. Seat-Chobham Place, Bagshot, Surrey.

Brit.); Earl of Abercorn, 1606; Baron of Paisley, 1587; Abercorn, 1603; Hamilton, Mountcastle and Kilpatrick, 1606, (Scot.); Visct. Strabane, 1701; Baron Strabane, 1616; and Mountcastle, 1701; and a baronet, 1660, (Irel.)-JAMES HAMILTON, eldest son of James Visct. Hamilton, by the 2nd dau. of the Hon. J. Douglas. Born 1811; mar. 1832 the 2nd dau. of the 6th Duke of Bedford; succeeded his grandfather in 1818. A governor of Harrow School; is patron of 2 livings. The title of Baron of Paisley was conferred by James 1st, in 1587, on the 3rd son of the Earl of Arran, Duke of Chatelherault, for services to Mary Queen of Scots. The present peer and the Earl of Verulam are the only noblemen enjoying peerages in each of the three kingdoms. Seats-Dudingstone House, Co.
